We are seeking one justgeneration.ca Intern (for Fall 2011)

The justgeneration.ca intern will work closely with the Youth Initiative Staff person and the Public Engagement Team of The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund - The Anglican Church of Canada to promote and support the involvement of young people (16-30) in the work of PWRDF.

This is a voluntary position with honoraria. It is designed to meet the needs of justgeneration.ca, PWRDF and also the intern's learning goals. This internship could be used as a voluntary requirement for some university, community college or other community programs. The internship is at the Toronto office of the Anglican Church of Canada at 80 Hayden St.

Responsibilities will include some of the following:

  • Assisting in production of monthly justlist (email list) to our network
  • Assisting in the production of the justgeneration.ca resources (may include multimedia production)
  • Participation in the design and facilitation of educational workshops for young people on global issues
  • Making presentations to youth regarding PWRDF / justgeneration.ca
  • Promoting our materials to youth ministers, chaplains, parishes, etc.
  • To participate in discussions regarding youth strategy for the organization
  • Possible attendance at youth-related events such as Youth Council, etc.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to create and develop educational materials on a global issue
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email, Social Media
  • Ability to work independently
  • Goal oriented
  • Strong written skills
  • Knowledge of group building and educational principles
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Flexible
  • Desire to learn and to serve PWRDF / The Anglican Church of Canada / justgeneration.ca

Length of Internship: 4 months

Ideal Internship Date(s):

  • Fall Intern: September 6 - December 23, 2011

Compensation: PWRDF will cover the cost of a TTC (transit) 'metropass' each month and will offer an honorarium of $500/month.

Living Arrangements: We can work to try to find you a housing billet if you are from outside of Toronto if required.
You are responsible for all other travel, living and insurance costs.
